We love Nelson Bay. We spend a very happy 4 1/2 years there and made some very dear friends. Both Finley and Primrose were born at hospitals nearby and bought home to the two homes we had while we lived there. To us it is a paradise, where we spent some of the best years of our life. It's wonderful to visit and during the September school holidays I took the kids for a wonderful week there reconnecting with friends and having a wonderful time.
Our visit coincided with Sigrid's little girl Ruby's 5th birthday party. The kids had a blast but maybe the adults even more as we got to catch up on the details of the last year together. We spent the next 2 days at Sig's new home near Maitland. The kids had a giant sleepover and we all had a great time hanging out. We were able to catch up with Sarah's family the next day for a BBQ and then that night we were joined by Ruth and her friend for a fun girl's night out together for dinner and dessert while Sarah's mum kindly minded the kids.
The next few days we hung out at Sarah's place like old times. We had a catch up with Rhiannon down at Dutchies and played at the park and met up with Jackie and the kids. As always the kids ran riot and had the best time of their lives. We spent an awesome day at Oakvale park, patting the Kangaroos and Koalas and cooled off in their new water park. Basically heaven for the kids.
Aside from a scary few hours thinking I had lost my wedding ring, it was the perfect trip. I'm so glad that time doesn't change these beautiful friendships that I have and that the kids bond is just as deep as ours.
