This Girl is Six

Primrose could not wait for her birthday to come. If I had my way I'd keep her just a little longer at every age but she is so thrilled for life to march ahead and discover what is around every corner. Whenever I tell her I wish I could keep her little forever she says 'mum, but you've still got Lily, you'll be alright'. This girl is so independent and content, she doesn't really need the rest of us but I'm glad she keeps us around all the same. 

Six! It's a big one. This year Primrose started kindergarten at Bungendore Public School. She adores her teacher Mr Lange and her best friend Eden is in her class so all so all is right in Primrose's world. She is thriving at school. She was selected as the female Student Representative for her class. Her reading and writing have taken off and she enjoys all the learning and opportunities that school brings. Every school day is a good day and she wishes she could go right through the weekend. She is very loved by her teacher and classmates and we are so proud of how she has taken this new challenge and run with it.

So far this year Primrose has done really well in her swimming. She was the only child her age to compete in the competitive swimming morning for swim club and took out 3 first places! She also did the triathlon and had a great time. Every Monday she goes to Joeys, on Wednesdays she goes to gymnastics which she is loving and every weekend she horse rides which carries on over into play at home. For her birthday she got another big toy horse to keep her other one company. Primrose loves to play on her own, especially make believe with her horses and dolls house. She sits and works on reading and loves to colour, draw and create. She is absolutely at home with her own company but loves when I join her and is always up for being included in Finley's ideas. Her little sister is already shadowing her and they make such a cute pair. And Quill just adores all of Primroses things and often laments that they are not his. 

Primrose had a lovely party with the six girls from her class as well as her neighbour Evelyn and good friend Isabelle. Adelaide bought Porridge the pony over for the girls to ride which they loved and we played games and ate food and had a dance party. Her friends showered her with unicorn gifts which of course she loved. Grandma and Grandpa were also up for the weekend with Artie who everyone adores. They gave Primrose a fun journal which she has been decorating and writing in ever since. She loves to lock away her thoughts in there. 

Our beautiful six year old is an absolute treasure. She is easy going and happy, loves life and making friends. She is so kind to everyone and has a real sense of self. She is just wonderful and we love watching her as she grows, even though I would give anything to hold her, just for moment in all of the ages and stages past.
