These two dear sisters share a bedroom, toys, lots of snuggles and this year a birthday! With only a few weeks between their 7th and 2nd birthday's, and mummy and daddy's trip to the US colliding with Lily's day, Primrose very graciously invited Lily to share her day with her. They made for a gorgeous little birthday pair with pigtails for their morning of pancakes and present opening. Grandma came to celebrate too to share in all the fun.
A seasoned present opener Primrose got right into it. She received a beautiful unicorn gem craft from Grandma and her dreams to finally own a watch came true from us. There were all sorts of 'little things' for Primrose. She got her much longed for gem topped pens, a replacement sequin snake slap band, a satin pillow case and mask and audio cd's for her favourite fairy books. Lily very carefully inspected her gifts and carefully pulled at the wrapping ignoring her siblings efforts to jump in. She got fairy wings and a wand and her very own helmet and purple light up scooter which she couldn't wait to jump on and have a go.
The night before Levi and I set to work on the requested beehive cake which despite some equipment malfunctions came together beautifully, though apparently it was missing a door ... nonetheless the girls were very happy and the cake was delicious. The collaborative effort made it all the more fun, I love when Levi brings his skills to the proceedings.
Primrose was lucky enough to have a special nocturnal animal walk planned with her Joey's group for the evening of her birthday. She was so excited to go with Levi and see all the animals who would usually be asleep in the day. She came back with reports of all sorts of interesting animals. There rest of us went to represent Canada at our wards International Night. We set up a stand with all sorts of Canadian memorabilia, had the kids put together a puzzle of Canada and served mini pancakes to everyone. The whole event was a great success and Lily particularly loved dancing along to the cultural dances on the night.
The girls had a lovely birthday together. They are a very sweet pair and so lucky to have each other. We knew that our Primrose needed a sister and here she is with her little adoring shadow who loves her the most of all. Happy Birthday our Flower Girls.
