What a wonderful, exciting year for Primrose. Full of friendship, fun and new experiences. Oh to be 9 years old and finding yourself and what you love. It's pleasure to watch Primrose living life. She has a beautiful energy and attracts friends and fun everywhere she goes. She has a brilliant imagination and finds joy everywhere, so it goes without saying - she's had a great year.
She settled right into Year 3 with her teacher Mrs O'Neill and was lucky enough to be in class with her best friend Harper. They were self proclaimed model students and it showed. Primrose had outstanding naplan results across all areas, she was selected to play one half of twin elves with Harper in the end of year Christmas performance and she ended the year receiving the Creative Arts Award at the final assembly. She has really immersed herself in reading this year and found the power of the novel. She had a great book week costume based on The Travelling Bookshop and loved all the fun activities her school hosted, like the colour run and diorama competition where she created the most impressive 'swamp' I have ever seen.
It was a big year for her horse riding. She continued lessons with our teenage neighbour Chloe and participated all year in pony club every chance we had. The big highlight of the year was the Pony Camp at Dungog where she and I spent four days camping together in less than ideal, rainy conditions. But it didn't matter, we both managed and loved it. Her days were spent doing all things riding with her group 'The Pink Ponies' and at night we slept together in the tent and had all the lovely one on one time we love. They schedule was so varied and really built her confidence. Her favourites were the obstacle course, the tricks and the ribbon day at the end where she did so well. She came away with some friends for life and who we are having come for a ride to the river in the summer holidays. Another pony highlight was attending the Salt Ash ribbon day and Primrose coming away with age champion and a big ol' ribbon. It's been lovely to watch her progress and we are endless grateful to have such a gorgeous and wonderful pony in Porridge.
Primrose played netball for the first time this year and had a great season. I found a real love for watching it, it's such a fun and fast game and all the players really get a chance to shine. We were very proud of Primrose giving it her all and making some new friends too. She also started cheer and tumble which has taught her some awesome skills and all culminated in the end of year concert where she performed beautifully. She's had a go at learning the piano on the ipad and has found a talent for noting out songs she likes by ear. It's fun to watch her try new things and grow her skills. She found a new obsession with 'Wicked' after I took her to the movie and it's been fun singing all the songs with her in the car on our way places.
The year has been dotted with all sorts of great fun. She's reconnected with cousins and gone to a theme park for the first time on a trip to QLD. Had friends come for our big bonfire. Had some great adventures around the property exploring, kayaking, building a hide out. We always marvel at just how many birthday parties she gets invited too, she was even chosen by her friend Lexi to go to tree tops adventure park where she was very brave doing the obstacle courses. Everywhere Primrose goes she makes friends and has the best time. She just that sort of person
Very proud of our lovely girl. She a wonderful sister, a peace and fun maker in our home, she is so creative and growing in skills and confidence all the time. We are very proud of you our beautiful daughter. We love you to the moon and back.
