Picnics and Ponies

Lily has been excited for her birthday party since the day after her birthday last year. She dreamed up a picnic from one of her favourite 'Anne' books that depicts an amazing picnic scene, three legged races, picnic rugs and cake. She had her new dress on, her best friends around her and the party dream come to life just for her. She was so happy and floating on a cloud for days after.

The party really did have it all. We set up a pen for the kids to play with the bunnies and let the chickens out to roam amongst the guests sitting on their scattered picnic blankets. Chloe was there giving pony rides on Porridge to all of the children. We had sack, egg and spoon and three legged races. Lily high on adrenaline and determination and raced her little heart out to win the sack race. She got to have the three legged race with her best friend Lilieta, just like Anne and Diana and we got to see her competitive streak come out. I made her a big vanilla, cream and berry cake which every one devoured and the afternoon was the perfect, sunny scene we had hoped for. Lily was showered with gifts that she and was just in heaven from her special day.

Our little Lily is becoming a big girl faster than I'm ready. She is in her last year of preschool and so thrilled about catching the bus and attending big school with Primrose and Quill next year. She is an incredible artist, going through reams of paper drawing bunnies, flowers and hearts. She loves the water and is becoming a very good swimmer. She adores her big sister and loves sharing a room and sometimes a bed with her. She loves her girlfriends at school and has the most fun at all of their parties. She is a true little gem. Happy Birthday lovely Lily!
