The start of the school year was a big one for the Catton family. We were all very excited for the changes and new beginnings this year. Everyone has very exciting places to be off too, making the most of each day living and learning.
We have Finley starting Grade 4 with a new teacher to the school Mrs Johnston. As he edges closer to those High School years it becomes clear how fast time is passing. After having her kindergarten year with a teacher she adores Primrose was a little nervous heading into Year 1 but she has had a great start with another new teacher Miss Riley. Quill happily went off to start in the Preschool room at the Children's Cottage with Little Miss Lily in tow for her first day there. Nothing like some big brother support and they tell us he checks in on her and makes sure she is happy all day. They are there together on Thursdays and Lily stay home with Daddy while he works from home on Fridays. Lily has adjusted so well and it's working well for all of us.
A big change for me is heading back to teach two days a week. Aside from an attempt to get back to work thwarted by Covid two years ago, it's been 7 years since I've taught professionally. I'm working at the local Bungendore Primary School the kids attend with one day in the computer lab (which Levi likes to tease my about considering my subpar computer skills!) and another teaching a 5/6 class S3P. It adds an extra dimension of chaos to our home life but also brings lots of good for all of us and has been a really great decision all around.Very happy to be back.
Levi continues with the daily grind, doing excellent things as he weaves his own design work into the business. Incredibly proud of who he is and all that he manages to do. We make it all work for our family and have found our own way ahead.
Big year ahead for the Catton's, I have a feeling it will pass by in a flash.
