With Covid turning lots of the Ryan family get together plans up side down we were all keen to make sure we got together at the first opportunity. Shannon thought up the plan to surprise mum for her birthday in Sydney and I helped to orchestrate the meet up. We met the Ryan family at Circular Quay and it couldn't have been more perfect!
Mum was absolutely thrilled to see them and I was relieved to have pulled it off. Under the guise of going to the art gallery spending a day in the city I lured them to designated meet up spot. Mum was so surprised, there were tears and hugs and a beautiful reunion after so many plans had fallen through. Shannon had organised for Mum to climb the harbour bridge with Mirielle as her birthday gift so off we went to drop them there while the rest of us walked around the city together. They loved it of course and we had the perfect day to wander around the harbour and all catch up.
We had a few other surprises for the weekend. We had a birthday lunch at Panorama House to celebrate and I made mum a big carrot cake that kept us all going over the weekend. We had a lovely day at church all together and had lots of fun over the Easter weekend with hikes and the Easter show. A highlight was getting to know mum's new dog Arty who was so excited by all the visitors.
So wonderful to all be together again and celebrate our wonderful mum.
