Christmas 2020

Christmas was turned upside down this year like so many other plans. Covid has been really up and down this year, with lockdowns, restrictions and state boarders changing with little warning. We had planned for the Ryan family to all be together for a big and long awaited Sydney Christmas but alas it was not meant to be this year. Instead Mum, Dad and Courtney came to our place and we had a little home Christmas of our own.

The kids of course were over the moon at every special Christmas tradition. There were Christmas movies and PJ's, our advent calendar full of special activities and some little parties in the lead up. We baked gingerbread and gave gifts to friends and neighbours. We had a lovely Christmas dinner with the Nivens and a great visit with Ray and his family.

On the day I was fairly tired from waking up at 4am to the sounds of Finley and Quill ready to start opening presents! So we had a later start and a bit of a sleep in before the presents begun. The big one this year was a dolls house for Primrose which I had painted and wallpapered ready for her. It has beautiful opening doors and an attic roof and now takes pride of place in her room. Lars, Levi's good friend from work came to join us later in the day as Santa Claus and surprised all the kids with presents. Courtney bought mum and I beautiful dried flowers which were a gorgeous surprise. There were books and chocolate, toys and lots of treasures for everyone.

It was a quieter one in the end but full of all the best things, good food and family and all the love you feel at Christmas.
